Re: jake cut from bengals

The Pats better put him on the roster. After a week or two there are going to be QB injuries or flops and some team is going to pick Jake off the practice squad. Anyway, this is great fit for Jake, you know Belichick does not care about what round you were drafted or what school you played for. He i...

Re: jake cut from bengals

Shoreline, Agreed. Here is my prediction; -The Pats sign Jake -Jake makes the team as the 3rd QB, goodbye Brian Hoyer thank you for your service -7 minutes and 32 seconds into the 1st Q of the 3rd game, Cam Newton gets hurt from a hit while running for a 1st down -Jake gets the nod and leads the Pat...

Re: Fall sports

Why is HS sports safe, or has an acceptable risk, and college sports does not?

Re: Fall sports

Well it was a nice try (resuming sports), but this was inevitable. it was the safe decision. Given the present environment, attempting to resume fall sports would have a huge downside and not much of an upside.

Anytime. I have that feeling that it is inevitable, coming sooner or later.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

Is the NCAA allowing these kids another year of eligibility?
If they don't play, within the current rules, they can be red shirted. So yes, I do not see why there would be any problem, if they choose, to have another year of eligibility.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

It doesn't look good. The chances for any kind of football season seem to be diminishing rapidly.
And a full (conference and non conference) BB schedule is likely not going to happen.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

Yes, one could argue that Central's last two QB's were each the best in the league. Its tough to live up to that standard.

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

The whole world has gone back to school, with, obviously, common sense guidelines.
Its an election year in the US. There is a saying, "during an election year every decision is political"

Re: Next Season

Here’s one for you. So if covid ruins basketball as well as football, what happens to DM’s contract? Can they renew on single digit wins?Assuming all these coaches will get paid if the season is cancelled (I hope) so then what? Contract would’ve over correct? Considering the unusual circumstances, ...

Re: Kyle Vinales

I loved watching him play! Okay, he was not a good defensive player, but he had the nasty habit of completely taking over a game and demoralizing an opponent, and that included his verbal jousting with opposing coaches. Remember him and Latina going at it! Come on, that was fun! And I think that Lat...

Re: 2020 Non-conference schedule

I propose a simple swap - Oct. 10 Central Connecticut vs. Army at West Point it does appear to be a natural swap. Army gets a replacement FCS opponent and Central gets a FBS pay day. So it makes sense, which should immediately send up a red flag, Things that make sense usually don't happen

Re: Deleware at. To next?

This may be a way of Howard to find a centralized home for these sports while maintaining their membership in the MEAC for the remaining sports...for now. Yes, that seems to be the indication. If they were planning to bolt then why would Howard find a conference to supplement the MEAC? They are sta...

Re: Deleware at. To next?

4 year graduation rate is one of the criteria for college ratings. But at least in Central's case, that does not indicate the quality of the education. Central has a lot of "blue collar" kids who have jobs in order to pay for or help pay for school. Many of them skip or go part time for a semester o...

Re: Deleware at. To next?

I think the most important thing about that article is what was not said. There wasn't anybody that said "no." Reading between the lines it seems that negotiations are ongoing and serious.
I would like to see it happen.
