Central has three recruits (for now) coming in. They are:
-Khalen Cumberlander, a 6-foot-3 combination guard from Washington, D.C. He could help the Blue Devils become more versatile in transition. “A terrific athlete,” Dickenman said. “He’s going to play. We should run more. We’re going to be improved, athletically.”
-Matthew Hunter, a 6-5 transfer forward from Odessa College in Texas. Hunter averaged 17.8 points a game last season as a sophomore at Odessa. He’s a Detroit native who played five years with Vinales in the Detroit Fire AAU program. “He’s friends with Kyle, so that helped us in recruiting. He’s a stat-filler all the way across the board. He scores, has turnovers, has assists, has fouls. All the way across, you’ll never see zeros. He’s involved. Athletically, he’s very good.”
-Brandon Peel, a 6-foot-6 forward from Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md. He’s an athletic frontcourt player who might need time to develop.
Central has two remaining scholarships to award and would like to use at least one, probably on a rebounder. Erik Raleigh, a 6-8 forward/center, is another newcomer. He sat out last season as a red-shirt and, Dickenman said, has made “tremendous progress.”
