Been a while... very proud of these guys!
Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
I believe that the 2006 ranked team had Justise Hairston. He was a one man powerhouse that gave CCSU an edge in that year.
The big difference this year is that this ranking is truly a TEAM effort with talented players in multiple positions.

Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Couldn’t be happier for our team and university.
Homecoming has the ingredients to host the most amount of fans - ever at Arute Stadium.
Does anyone know the all time record of fans?

Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Unofficially, I think the record crowd is the "old" Arute Field near the library back in the 1970s - about 8-9k vs Southern Connecticut.
In the current location, no more than 5,400 (and that is probably being generous).

Just confirming all of the above, in a New Britain Herald article this morning:

Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
I know its jumping ahead but as previously stated, my expectations are high this year and that's all there is to it. That said, and I'm sure the powers that be are thinking about this but just in case, for the love of God, do what you have to do this time to secure a HOME FSC playoff game. It was missed the first time and lessons learned so as Nike says, just do it! 11/30 will be ROCKING!
Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Teams put in a sealed bid to host a home game in the playoffs. The decision is made based on the financial guarantee the hosting team can make to the NCAA. For example, school A offers $26k + 50% of revenue after that, and team B offers $33k + 50% of revenue after that. Team Gets the home game.
Wagner did get a home game vs Colgate, but no other NEC team has won a bid. I doubt we can outbid our likely first round opponents like UNH, Stony Brook, Villanova, Delaware, etc.
I hope we put in a competitive bid, but a lot depends on who we get matched with. We can’t outbid SBU or Delaware.

Also moved up in the STATS FCS Top 25 poll to #23
Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Nice! Love seeing teams like Albany and New Hampshire in the receiving votes category while were on the big list! Monmouth too!
So happy about this year! FSC win or bust baby!

Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Central moves up to #19 in this week's FCS STATS Top-25 and the FCS Coaches Poll.
This ties for the school's highest ever ranking back in 2006.

Ranked #19 means that we are becoming a team to beat.

Re: STATS FCS Top-25 Poll
Duquesne and RMU are not even in the receiving votes category, so I guess Central is the favorite to win the NEC, for whatever that is worth.
Central still needs to work on the punt blocking and emotions control (unsportsman like conduct penalties).
Wagner got their hands on one of the punts though it still managed to roll enough to avoid disaster.
Wouldn't it be nice to win out!!!
