11.16.19 Robert Morris Univ @ CCSU

Post by Shoreline »

Time to salute the masterful prognosticators in the NEC who predicted a 7th place finish for Robert Morris. The Colonials have enjoyed one of their best seasons since Joe Walton, the second most famous football player named Joe from Beaver’s Falls PA, retired. They can clinch a league championship and playoff bid by defeating CCSU Saturday.

The Blue Devils need a much better performance this week than the one they had against St. Francis. Hopefully our offensive line is back from vacation.

Offshore odds makers have CCSU as a 16-point favorite over BobbyMo.

A Blue Devils win over RMU will clinch another NEC Championship, however it does not assure CCSU earns the league's automatic bid to the playoffs.

Duquesne is a 10-point favorite at Bryant this week and a Dukes win would set up a defacto NEC Championship game in Pittsburgh in the season finale.

The good news is: Central controls their own density and wins the AQ by winning out. One week at a time!

Agree, one game at a time and this one has me worried as CCSU has not looked good in the past couple of weeks. That O line scared me last week.

What is the tie breaker scenario should we win and lose at Duquesne?

Assuming DUQ wins this week vs. Bryant and next week vs. CCSU, the Blue Devils would need RMU to win it's final game vs. Sacred Heart.

Central (6-1) wins a 3-way tiebreaker with RMU (6-1) and DUQ (6-1) because each team has a loss to each other and CCSU will have the highest Jeff Sargin ranking among the three teams.

Duquesne (6-1) would win the two-way head-to-head tiebreaker over Central (6-1), if RMU (5-2) loses it final game vs. Sacred Heart.

This is an exciting season! It is great to be in the position where we control our own destiny. One game at a time.
The team needs to be fully prepared and fired up for this game!

Agreed, I hope to see a complete game from both sides of the ball. O line, something was up last week. No BS personal fouls. Seek and Destroy. No fooling around like last week. Hopefully we get a Bryant win along the way.

The offensive line needs to build a wall and make Robert Morris pay for it.

Unbelievable! RMU blocks a punt for a TD. Central has now allowed 4 blocked punts this season!

The success of this season is going come down to special teams.

As good as our defense and offense has been playing all year - the failure to address our special teams weakness is disappointing.

Change in momentum. Blocked FG, followed by a CCSU fumble leads to 2 RMU scores.

Lots of time left and CCSU is definitely a very poised team, but they have to lock down now and take control of the game.

In Aaron we trust!

Great drive for a TD to even things up.

Why doesn't CCSU play a tight-punt or Max-protect formation?

Absolutely frustrating watching this punt team. The only part of the game that really makes me nervous.
