The Central Connecticut men's golf team shot an incredible day two score of 289 and claimed the New England Division I Men's Golf Championships on Sunday. The tournament was played at the Newport National Country Club in Middletown, RI. The course is a par-72 and is 7,244 yards long. The Blue Devils had four golfers shoot 73 or better on the second day of the tournament to claim the title.
"I am real proud of the way we played today," head coach Kevin Giancola said following the round on Sunday. " We had three guys in the top six and they all played very well. We had four guys shoot 73 or better in the final round. It has been a tough spring but the guys have been coming around and it all clicked today. We are looking forward to the Northeast Conference Championships."
