Re: @Miami 9/25

I think its 100% for athletics Hoops. Years ago I, along with another alum, met with Jack on the subject of athletics at Central and a remember him telling me that these “guarantee” games are meant to help the football and basketball programs become more self sufficient. By the way, in the same meet...

Re: #15 Southeastern Louisiana - 9/18

Hey there slulionsfan. Thx for the kind comments. Our university has come a long way since I earned my undergraduate degree in 1978 and we’re pretty proud of our academic and athletic accomplishments as well. Checking Southeastern’s website, it looks like you have a beautiful campus. I sincerely hop...

Re: #15 Southeastern Louisiana - 9/18

Probably. 😉

I’m reminiscing about the days when we had a real decent…dare I say good…marching band.

I’ll be watching from the Gulf today…if NEC Front Row actually works. I can flip to women’s soccer at 1:00 if need be.

Re: #15 Southeastern Louisiana - 9/18

You may be correct JJ which is why I couched my words. When I dug up a photo of the soccer press box, it appears to be much smaller.

Re: #15 Southeastern Louisiana - 9/18

Arute Field 1975…I’m somewhere in the left line. Was the seating in 1975, still a beach blanket on the grassy hill? We had a small press box and rickety wood grandstand seats on the west side on top of the hill where students would sit on blankets. Not sure but I think that press box was reconditio...

Re: Central-Southern - 9/3

We are one of the few college football games being played anywhere in the country right now and no one can see it A great day, perfect weather, with what looks like a very good crowd, against an exciting opponent A chance to be a showcase both in Connecticut and for football fans everywhere Yet we ...

NEC Frontrow has a ton of issues. So far, I was able to watch 5 min. of the first quarter. 😡

1) for CCSU and Arute Field/Detrick Gym
2) for UConn and P&W Stadium/Gampel
Looks like social distancing won’t be a problem at the “Rent” this season. :P

Re: Homecoming

I’ve been keeping my eye on this and I recently saw that tailgate parties won’t be allowed so naturally, that meant the homecoming tailgate. I was planning on coming up but it’s doubtful now. Spirit Airlines actually canceled my flight and offered to reschedule. I looked at it as an omen and decided...

Re: Recruiting under Sellers off to a good start...

I’m obviously no expert on the game but IMHO a 6’ 10” guy who can fill the middle is something we need even if he needs to work on his shot. Back in 1999, we had a 6’ 10” center named Jeremy Bergh who gave Corsely a breather when needed and although he wasn’t the best shooter, he gave some very valu...

Re: Recruiting under Sellers off to a good start...

If memory serves me correctly, back in 1981 at the D-2 level, we had a walk on (I believe) named Steve Ayers and became one of the best shooting guards CCSU ever had at the time. Walk ons can most definitely earn scholarships and become valuable players. Maybe some fellow old timers can verify this....

Re: Monetizing Name, Image, Likeness

I’m admitting up front that I’m behind the curve on understanding all of this and it’s impact to CCSU so forgive my ignorance up front but here’s my 2 cents. First, I agree with Deltaguy about this being a “Pandora’s box” and how this affects/doesn’t affect the non starter athlete. Second, and it’s ...
