Re: Central-Southern - 9/3

We are one of the few college football games being played anywhere in the country right now and no one can see it A great day, perfect weather, with what looks like a very good crowd, against an exciting opponent A chance to be a showcase both in Connecticut and for football fans everywhere Yet we ...

Maybe I’m better off not being able to watch. 🤷🏻

Re: Central-Southern - 9/3

NEC Frontrow has a ton of issues. So far, I was able to watch 5 min. of the first quarter. 😡

1) for CCSU and Arute Field/Detrick Gym
2) for UConn and P&W Stadium/Gampel
Looks like social distancing won’t be a problem at the “Rent” this season. :P

Re: Homecoming

I’ve been keeping my eye on this and I recently saw that tailgate parties won’t be allowed so naturally, that meant the homecoming tailgate. I was planning on coming up but it’s doubtful now. Spirit Airlines actually canceled my flight and offered to reschedule. I looked at it as an omen and decided...

Re: Recruiting under Sellers off to a good start...

I’m obviously no expert on the game but IMHO a 6’ 10” guy who can fill the middle is something we need even if he needs to work on his shot. Back in 1999, we had a 6’ 10” center named Jeremy Bergh who gave Corsely a breather when needed and although he wasn’t the best shooter, he gave some very valu...

Re: Recruiting under Sellers off to a good start...

If memory serves me correctly, back in 1981 at the D-2 level, we had a walk on (I believe) named Steve Ayers and became one of the best shooting guards CCSU ever had at the time. Walk ons can most definitely earn scholarships and become valuable players. Maybe some fellow old timers can verify this....

Re: Monetizing Name, Image, Likeness

I’m admitting up front that I’m behind the curve on understanding all of this and it’s impact to CCSU so forgive my ignorance up front but here’s my 2 cents. First, I agree with Deltaguy about this being a “Pandora’s box” and how this affects/doesn’t affect the non starter athlete. Second, and it’s ...

Re: Sorry to Hear of Kevin Oliva's Passing

Sad news indeed…and at such a young age.

He was one of those “behind the scenes” guys who got things done and played an important role without the fanfare.

Re: Welcome home Pat Sellers!

I see your point JJ. I think most, if not all of us, are pleased with the hiring of Patrick AND we all seem to have confidence in Tom. As we know, CCSU is constrained financially and beaurocratically but with that in mind, I’m sure Tom is doing everything possible to fill out the basketball coaching...

Re: 2021 schedule

I stand corrected then. I didn’t think an FCS school would pay anything to play another. I thought pay games were strictly between FBS and FCS.

This would be a great game to get a W AND some $$$.

Re: 2021 schedule

I would assume Yale is a one game deal Hill...at least for now. They have been reluctant to play us anywhere in the past.

They may have tons of $$ but I don’t think, being a fellow FCS school, they would pay CCSU for anything.

Not quite sure how he will fit in as the Packers website said they now have five QB’s including Rodgers, but it’s good that he’s still in the game so to speak.

Re: LSU - June 5th

Listening on the internet via LSU’s network. While this is a pro network, still this the kind of thing I was talking about when I suggested CCSU sports can be broadcasted on WFCS and picked up anywhere there is WiFi if they can find students willing to do it. By the way...here we go with LOB’s again...
