UPDATE:

Seems like I was wrong about the Binghamton game, but good news is there will not be a D-II or D-III opponent this year.

Central will add games vs. Stony Brook, Providence, and Rutgers to complete the schedule. Dates to be announced shortly.

Tue., Nov. 9 – at UConn (Storrs)
Sun., Nov. 14 – at Brown
Tue., Nov. 16 – vs. UMass-Lowell (Mohegan Sun)
Wed., Nov. 17 – vs. N.C. State (Mohegan Sun)
Sat., Nov. 20 - at Qunnipiac
Tue., Nov. 23 - at Maine
Sun., Nov. 28 - Fordham (Detrick Gym)
Wed., Dec. 1 – Holy Cross (Detrick Gym)
Sat., Dec. 4 - at New Hampshire
Sat., Dec. 18 - Hartford (Detrick Gym)

Dates TBA:
at Providence
at Rutgers
at Stony Brook

In summary, this could be one of the best non-conference schedules in the history of the program. A great job by Tom P. and Pat Sellers!

Highlights:
- Open the season vs. in-state rival UConn
- Participate in MTE at Mohegan Sun
- Host A-10 team at Detrick
- Face 5 America East opponents

4 "Major" Opponents (Big East, ACC, Big Ten)
UConn - just the 3rd visit to Gampel to face the Huskies
N.C. State - practically a "home game vs. ACC team at Mohegan (MTE)
Providence - a short ride across the state line to face a 2nd Big East opponent
Rutgers - another trip to N.J. courtesy of Steve Pikiell to play a Big Ten team

3 Home Games (A-10, Patriot, America East)
Fordham - a rare home game vs a A-10 team
Holy Cross - 1947 NCAA Champs make first appearance at Detrick
Hartford - I-84 rivals meet again in New Britain for possibly for the last time

Other local opponents:
at Brown, at Maine, at New Hampshire, at Stony Brook - road games vs. 3 regional public universities and an Ivy League program
at Quinnipiac - first game vs. former NEC rival since they joined the MAAC
vs. UMass-Lowell - competitive neutral-site opponent (and fellow regional public university) in MTE at Mohegan

* EDIT - SBU is a road game.

I think my favorite aspect of this schedule is that, if you wanted to, you could go to every game and sleep in your own bed. Rutgers and Maine could be pushing it a bit, but doable.

Yes, and in fact that was exactly what CCSU was trying to do. These are all bus games that don't require a hotel for the team. That is good for COVID reasons, as well as saves a ton of $$$ budget-wise.

I'm not sure you could drive to Orono and back in a day, but other than that trip, everything else is doable. 😃

I've never stepped foot in Maine. I had no idea UMaine was in northern Maine near the border. 5 hours+ from my house  !

I take it back.

Yeah, that's a long haul and likely the only overnight non-conference game this year. If we were to ever join the AE, that would be a new version of the bus ride to Moon Township (RMU).

Maine is fantastic. Last year was my first trip to Portland and Bar Harbor. Highly recommend for a New England vacation.

Well, good to see the schedule is up (in some capacity) on the website, and pictures of all the new players on the roster. I just wish there weren't all those 'TBA's on the sched. Damn COVID!

Looks like tickets go on sale for the Mohegan Sun games tomorrow. No chance those will be included in the season ticket package right???

No. It's a Multi Team Event. All 4 teams are paid guarantees from the promoter, who is responsible for selling tix.

This is a great deal for us. Central is paid to play an ACC team less than 60 miles from our campus. While this is a "Neutral" site game and we will likely be wearing the dark "road" jerseys, this is as close to a home game as we can expect against a P5 team.
