Sounds like this isn’t going to be a cake walk.

Who has any experience besides Mitchell? Williams has a few passes, Zajack has a couple. Would expect Mitchell as a graduate and the other two to compete for reps.

There are certainly plenty of quarterbacks in the roster, but so little experience. Still time to pick up someone with experience from the portal.

And for 2021, add back the home game with Fordham on 9/4.

That's an error - old info that the NEC didn't update.

Fordham is now playing at Nebraska on that date - and that's how CCSU got Southeastern Louisiana at home on 9/18 (and on the road in 2022).

I've heard we are working on a new opponent for 9/4, but nothing about who or where. I had thought that Bucknell might have been a possibility, but according to the NEC release, Sacred Heart will host them on that date instead.

I'd like to see another HOME game, so we have 2 home games per month. We always draw better early in the season when the weather is good. Otherwise, we need to find a $$$ game if we are going on the road.

Holy Crap, LIU has three FBS opponents right off the bat. They probably need the $$.

Hopefully we can fill that 18th date with something local otherwise we go over a month without seeing a game: that would suck.

If we are playing matchmaker for CCSU final non-conference opponent, here's some ideas floating out there.

1) Charleston Southern (Big South) needs a home game on 9/4 and that is the date we are looking to fill. But unless we get $$$ for it, or get a return game in a future season, not sure we need a trip to South Carolina to open the season.

2) Yale appears to be a game short and has an opening on Oct. 2 - currently planned as our bye week following the game at Miami. Not sure it makes sense to open the season with a bye and play 11 straight games, but it would be a "local" game that we would get $$$ and exposure.

3) I'm sure there are some NE-10 teams looking for a game and would be willing to bus to New Britain. I always would call Southern Connecticut first, but I'm sure AIC or others could be an option. This is likely the best deal as we would open at home vs. a D-II team to get warmed up.

FYI - the NEC made a mistake. CCSU isn't playing Fordham on 9/4 (they cancelled that game to play at Nebraska)

We are hosting Southeastern Louisiana that date.

This was arraigned when Fordham-Nebraska deal was made. SLU was scheduled to play Nebraska, now they play us in 2021 and we go there in 2022 :)

Would be nice to somehow get St Thomas out of Minnesota on the schedule for you guys.... not this upcoming season but down the road... They made the jump from D3 to FCS...

I think our schedules have been very good for the most part. Lots of games with Patriot and Ivy League teams. Annual FBS opponents and no D-II/III home games.

My only complaint is the lack of any CAA home games. I would like to see some home and home deals with CAA teams.

URI plays every other year at Bryant.
Stony Brook plays at Fordham in 2022.
Albany will play at Fordham and Morgan State.
Towson will play at Bucknell.
Even JMU is willing to play at Monmouth in 2025

I don't think we should take $$$ games from Albany, SBU, and New Hampshire. We should demand return games!

If we need the money, then play at 2 FBS teams for $$$ like Maine does. I'm OK with a buy game at Delaware or JMU, but the the New England and NY teams should return home games or we don't sign a contract with them.

Couldn't agree more, plus those games would be nice draws if they happened when it was still warm to cool out.
